Cuba:The Struggle for Justice

Nov 5, 2006 - Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur - GPTD Latin America had been attending a forum on Cuba: The Struggle for Justice. The forum had been addressed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Kuala Lumpur, H.E.Mr.Pedro Monzon Barata and Just President, Dr. Chandra Muzaffar. The forum is being held on the eve of the annual United Nations debate on a resolution seeking to lift the economic blockade on Cuba imposed by the US 47 years ago.

This unjust, inhuman blockade which is opposed by the majority of UN members states except USA, Israel, Marshall Island and Palau is aimed at strangulating the Cuban economy. It denies the Cuban people the right to develop their own society guided by its own values without interference from outside.

Nevertheless, Cuba manage to provide healthcare and education to their citizens without any charge of fees.

GPTD members are suggested to learn from these two countries namely Cuba and Iran.
